Description
Experience Level: Entry
Num. of articles: 1
Words per article: 600
Information for the blog/website: Writing on behalf of a business development consultant to the PR industry
Industry: Business
Topic: Business Development
Tone: Formal/Professional
Outline & Structure: I need a regular ghost writer for a non-exec PR consultant blog. The tone is formal (no colloquialisms or contractions etc) and the topics are generally about business development and nurturing talent.
We will always supply title and brief, but some research might be necessary. An excellent grasp of written English is required.
The first title is about Preparing to pitch for new business. It is part of a series of posts, so we can show you the previous posts for tone etc. The first post is about the research element of preparing for a pitch.
The outline should be:
• Commission research using internal or external resources. One size does not fit all. The buzz now is about big data and with the increasing sophistication of search, data is much easier to access. Additionally clients expect their consultants to demonstrate a thorough understanding not only of their business but their competitive environment and the markets in which they operate. Therefore, spending time and money doing proper desk and face to face research is important.
• Try to use creativity in commissioning research. It is about doing research to show you understand the client and its market, you then come up with a communications strategy.
• There is research to inform strategy and research to support big communication ideas. Once you have created a communications strategy you need to define the best creative platform. It can sometimes be helpful to then pre-test the creative platform or concept – or a couple of these - with a few consumers or focus groups to demonstrate that it is effective.
• The pitch team should be undertaking research of their own and immersing themselves in the client and sector.
If this goes well then we can offer twice monthly posts for this blog.
Thanks
Extensive research needed: no
