Outline & Structure: I am looking for a city guide to Preston. This will be published on our forthcoming guide for Students and new student lifestyle website. Broadly I am looking for the guide to include the following

1) The article should be at minimum 1,200 words – write it in your own style

2) It needs to appeal to students new to the city but also contain something that might appeal to existing students as well

3) We want an overview of what is happening in your city for the next 6 months (could be a bit longer, could be a bit shorter)

4) These should be things that are of interest to students and perhaps be things that new students may not know about (avoid very obvious stuff like what is going on at the SU – unless it really does merit some attention). Try and include something that is popular with local residents but not necessarily obvious to students.

5) Include some information on the best places to eat, drink and go out (for students)


6) Try and get a short interview with the following

Bar manager of your favourite student bar/café (why is their bar/café so good, why is their city so good for students)
A student who has done something interesting or unique (set up a business, formed a great band, raised money for charity etc etc etc)
Extra notes: You will probably have needed to have studied at Keele University and lived in Newcastle Under Lyme or be familar with the city.
