I am looking for a feature on Power of Attorney and financial planning.
Synopsis
Power of Attorney
Nobody wants to talk about a future that may not be so rosy, nevertheless it’s important to have a plan for ‘if’ and ‘when’. Power of Attorney is a way to ensure that wishes are properly acted on when people are no longer able to make decisions for themselves.
It might also be the time to look at financial matters as well as funeral matters so that everything is in order, giving everyone peace of mind. We look at some of the important points to consider.
Writer’s note: I’m looking for a description of what Power of Attorney is, in the context of a positive form of planning for when decision-making powers are lost. (Please make note of the slightly different arrangements between PoA as it exists in Scotland and England.)
