- the true effect is very personal and cannot be measured when combined with school education. performance in exams is a result of many different factors apart from knowledge such as self-confidence, experience at sitting exams, experience of working under pressure, time-management etc.
-tutors's role goes beyond preparing students for regulated assessment. a tutorial with a passionate astrophysicist can spark students interest in physics for example. curricula are just the basic minimum of what students are expected to know. in this assessment driven education system, there's room for tutorial sessions which will inspire students and bring their learning experience beyond MCQs and short answer questions.
