Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are a business information services company specialising in international human resource management. We have a huge database of country employment laws from around the world. However, we are seeking to include Nigeria into our database and need a starting point. Our full country reviews can be anything from 7,000 to 60,000 words long and are written by legal experts who are normally Masters level law graduates. All links are a supplement to the expertise we can call upon from working lawyers in the country concerned.
We should like a paralegal to start collecting data sources to help us begin this review. These will mainly consist of website links to official government legal data, case law, lawyer blogs, newspaper articles, other such reviews on the web etc. This task would largely suit a law graduate or student. Our medium is English, but if sources are in Igbo, Hausa etc we would need them included with a one line summary in English to indicate what the source is about. If we wanted these to be translated or summarised then we shall commission a follow-up project from the PPHer concerned. The important thing is that sources are about the current law or recent case law (last 3 years).
We envision that the total initial review will be one day's work (8 hours). If this is successful and good value for money we shall wish to offer follow up projects. We shall provide a framework of headings and subheadings within which to collect the data sources - such as recruitment, dismissal, maternity leave etc. All we are essentially looking for are the full website address - like https://www.peopleperhour.com/job/nigeria etc This will allow us to click on them to see and evaluate the source. We are generally not interested in sources that are low brow popular newspapers, recruitment agencies, PR companies.
This job would not suit a PR promo person, general researcher or journalist - or someone who normally deals with commercial material. It requires legal know-how that generally only a person who has studied law at a University level would possess.
