Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: More than 6 months
Travel writers for BLOGS and WEB pages required.
East African travel destinations.
We are a travel tech business with clients ranging from Online Travel Agents, Destination websites, small airlines, hotels and activity providers (eg: scuba dive operators) in Tanzania, and Zanzibar.
We're looking for writers who can service our content needs which are ongoing month to month, as well as web page writing for one-off projects as and when they arise.
We generate upwards of 24 blog briefs per month (see sample brief attached), and sometimes up to 36.
The website page writing is focused on destinations for travellers and tourists eg: we are currently building out a website for the island of Mafia, Tanzania, with a view to generating increased visitation to the island.
Blog style is 'chatty', accessible and personal. Factually accurate, and written for PEOPLE to enjoy reading and secondly for SEO purposes.
Website work is informative, ultimately needing to convert readers to visitors, to bookers of accommodation, flights, and excursions at the particular destination.
Blogs typically 350 - 500 words.
Website pages as per the task at hand when it arises, and will therefore be costed / scoped then.
We are looking for writers who pride themselves on their work, who generate work for humans and not just search engines.
Our budget for a set of 8 blogs is $128 USD, or pro rata thereof. WE PREFER TO ALLOCATE ALL THE WORK BETWEEN A MAX OF 2 WRITERS.
Please do not respond if unfamiliar with travel writing, and what relevant reader and BRAND requirements are.
When applying, please note:
1. no cut and paste applications - make them relevant to our job.
2. provide at least 3 samples of work done by you in related field, and select one of the pieces and indicate why it is better than the others you've provided.
3. indicate on a scale of 1-5 how you rate your reliability with deadlines (1 = poor, 5 = never miss a deadline).
4. in your application, consider that this is an ongoing project, not a 1-off.
5. with the attachments in mind, please indicate what they're missing, if anything, for you. (of course you'd have reference to the client websites and their content pages to read in conjunction with the briefs eg: https://www.assalaamair.co.tz/ http://bigoceandivers.com
Applicants must be 100% comfortable writing in English. Cultural influences are not a problem.
The most significant challenges we've witnessed to-date have been with writers not bringing themselves up to speed with the territories and areas, their specific points of travel interest, and therefore trying to submit very thin, and often ignorant content.
Looking for starts with who to create long lasting relationships!!
Thank you.
Marc

Why do you have a fixed fee of £35 if you're paying far less for 8 blogs?
Marc D.06 Apr 2019because pph doesn't have the flexibility in their pricing requirements to suit these needs. The job is not for 8 pieces; the amount indicated for 8 pieces is indicative. As per the job description, we're looking for people to take on more than 8 pieces.
Sorry for the confusion; each piece is paying $16 usd.
