Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
We are two long-standing IT consultants in the market research field. We decided, last October, to investigate whether an alternative polling method might be a way of predicting the results of the recent Election. We published the prediction that David Cameron would emerge as Prime Minister on May 6th . This is supported by some 30 surveys we’ve done on the subject every week since early October-2014
We are now undertaking a similar project on possible outcomes of the anticipated referendum. We wish to publicise the fact that we are undertaking this experiment and to invite possible subscribers. We think we need:
• Professional help in creating an effective press release (a draft is set out below)
• The release to be distributed to political parties, political journalists and the market research industry trade press
We need advice on the format and mechanics of the release and also suggestions as to how we can measure its impact.
• Our contact details (name/email/phone):
Name: Geoffrey Roughton
Email: Geoffrey.roughton@x-mr.com
Phone: 020 8994 2360 or 077 7563 8433 (land line preferred)
• Our web address:
www.x-mr.com
• The aim/purpose of the press release:
1 To publicise the fact the fact that our poll correctly forecast that David Cameron would be PM and thus gain name awareness
2 To elicit interest in a poll we are now doing on the EU Referendum question and the subscription opportunities
3 To obtain a quote from any publication that we can use in other promotional material
• Our target audience:
1 Political journalists in the UK
2 Those commissioning or using market research
More comprehensive details are included in the attached file along with a specimen press release example. If the first release is moderately successful, we will issue short intermediate one reporting the latest predictions.
