Wordpress Child Theme created for existing website which uses the "Responsive Theme"

I have a website which is built on the "Responsive Theme" (http://themeid.com/responsive-theme/).

Unfortunately, the development was performed on the original theme and not by building a child theme. Responsive has been through several updates since the website was created, and I'm keen to benefit from some of the improvements that have been introduced. The site also uses a few plugins, such as "Parallax Slider", which lose their styling when they are updated. This will need to be taken into account and rectified.

In addition to the child theme creation, I would like some minor creative input to lift the site and make it look a little less like a template.

All development work will need to be performed on a dev site. If necessary, I'm happy to provide the space and database for this. Once complete, it will need to be transferred back to our original live domain.
