Web-designer with Magento Knowledge Needed.

We currently have a web-site which was developed by an individual whom is no longer in our employment due to a number of mistakes he has made, therefore now we are looking to employ/hire a web developer to correct these mistakes and input conversion codes along with make various other changes to our site and also our merchant gateway (Netcommerce)responses that a customer would see need to be changed/adjusted.
Please no timewaster, references or qualifications is a must.
