Web designer - 1 week on site in Glossop

We are a creative marketing agency and are looking for someone to provide additional support ON SITE in Glossop as soon as possibe.

You will beworking alongside our in house designer.

Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties will include:
- Perform routine website maintenance work and updates
- Developing designs and concepts that have been created by our graphic design team
- Test functionality of websites in different web browsers and resolutions to maximise effectiveness of websites
- Create, design and edit images and graphics for websites
- Handle website layouts and templates
- Manage client support requests for hosting and e-mail marketing

Essential Skills

- Well rounded knowledge of HTML, XHTML CSS, W3C and Javascript
- Able to use open source software and programs e.g. Magento, Modx and Wordpress
- Ability to work with PHP/JQuery/Ajax/
- Able to map and outline a website's structural content
- Knowledge of Photoshop layers, filters, image optimisation and blending options used for web design.
- An understanding of .htaccess files and server setup
- Able to navigate the Mac OSX

Advantageous Skills

- Ability to create/edit custom themes using php/jquery for Wordpress, mODx, Prestashop, Magento etc
- A knowledge and familiarity with Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques
- An understanding of the latest specifications including HTML5, CSS3 and jQuery 1.6
- Ability to work in Flash
- Familiar with E-marketing and Newsletters
