Description
Experience Level: Expert
Hello,
I'm looking for a video editor for ongoing work. You would be asked to work from the studio in Shoreditch (at least for some time). Initially projects will be primarily crowdfunding videos, and there’s a certain workflow that it is needed throughout the post-production; I find that the process can be quicker when working alongside rather than remotely (you should be able to commute to central London).
I’m looking for someone with good knowledge and experience of Adobe Creative Suite, mostly Premiere Pro and After Effects (knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator would be useful too) - experience with motion graphics and 2d explainer/infographics type of animations etc. would be preferable.
An important part of the editing process will include synthesise interviews from various participants for a final pitch video of 3/4 minutes maximum, hence good communication skills, and an understanding of business terminology will be needed, as they’ll inform the choices you will have to make when selecting the content (however part of the process I will share relates to how the video is generally structured in terms of content, which has to reflect the storyboard signed off prior to the shooting, and which type of information to prioritise).
You should be open to receive feedback and instructions on the workflow, as I might need to share projects at different stages of post, and we’d need to be on the same page.
You should have your own laptop (at least at the beginning) and be able to use Adobe creative suite.
If you have experience and/or an interest also in videography and cinematography would be a plus (as assistance on some shootings could also be needed), but not essential for now.
I’m looking for an intermediate editor who is willing to work as part of a team, to learn a proven approach to crowdfunding video production, which has to match clients’ expectations; at the same time I’m open to creative insights and innovative thinking you can bring to the table.
This is can be an exciting opportunity to be involved on an ongoing basis (frequency could be an average of twice a week to begin with, and starting within the next couple of weeks).
I’m looking for someone who can help me to turn around more work, quicker and more efficiently, but without sacrificing creativity, quality and production value. If you have the experience and motivation to help me achieve that, you can expect a regular stream of work/income from me, but with a flexible freelance arrangement, that can support your activity too (however later in the year there will also be part-time/full-time opportunities, if interested).
Crowdfunding videos can be as varied as the products and services out there, and together with the creative challenge each one uniquely presents, there are a lot interesting insights that one can receive from high-profile entrepreneurs and start-ups on the cutting edge of technology, finance, entertainment etc.
Some of the work produced for Seedrs (a leading equity crowdfunding platform) has featured tennis champion Andy Murray and entrepreneurs like Brent Hoberman (founder of lastminute.com) and Simon Woodroffe (founder of YoSushi and ‘Dragon’ of the first season of ‘Dragons’ Den’ tv show).
Different type of work in the pipeline includes short documentaries for CGTN (Chinese Global TV Network).
You can learn more here: http://alchemediastudios.uk/
Please get in touch if this interests you, and if you have the availability and flexibility for a similar arrangement to start with (the suggested fee is p/d - travel expenses can be paid).
I’d like to see your work and read a few words about you and your interest for this position.
Thanks for reading this,
Gennaro
