I am looking for a reliable editor to turn my livestream VODs into 20–30 minute YouTube videos. We’ve already built a massive audience on the clips channel (250M+ views), and I need an editor who can bring that same level of quality to the main channel.
The Role
- You must be able to create an engaging intro that clearly explains what the video is about and gives people a reason to stay.
- The video should be a highlight reel of the stream, but you need to build in "mini-hooks" throughout to keep viewers from clicking away.
- You’ll be delivered a full VOD and expected to find the best footage yourself.
- Being well-versed in indie titles like Celeste, Omori, Hollow Knight, Silksong, and Outer Wilds is a huge plus, but not required.
Deliverables & Volume
- 20–30 minute videos.
- Minimum of 1 video per week. If you can handle 2, that is preferred.
- You should be able to watch a VOD and identify the narrative/highlights without needing timestamps or constant direction.
- Be able to use frame.io for video revisions (it will save a bunch of time on both of our ends).
Pay & Performance
I want the editor to benefit when a video performs well.
- $125 flat fee per edit.
- +20% of the ad revenue generated in the first 28 days of the video being live.
Requirements
- You must be well-versed in YouTube & Twitch culture.
- You understand how to edit for retention—knowing when to cut fast and when to let a funny moment play out.
- You can hit a weekly deadline consistently.
How to Apply
- Portfolio: Links to long-form videos you have edited (8+ minutes).
- Test Edit: Use this VOD: https://youtu.be/qyF8_uhv5bo
Create a 20-30 second intro that clearly explains the "Spin the Wheel" concept.
By the end of the 30 seconds, the viewer should know exactly what the series is (Chat suggests games → I play for 30 mins → Chat challenges/punishment wheel) and be hyped to watch.
