Description
Experience Level: Expert
Hiring: Video Editor — The Affluence Index (Remote)
The Affluence Index is a documentary-style YouTube channel exploring luxury, wealth, and access as systems of status, legitimacy, and power — not lifestyle content.
We produce short-form editorial episodes, typically 3–4 minutes, built from voiceover, premium B-roll, music, and restrained graphic treatment. The tone is cinematic, intelligent, dark, polished, and understated.
We’re looking for an editor with strong editorial judgment — someone who understands pacing, atmosphere, and visual storytelling, and knows how to shape footage around narration without over-editing.
You should be comfortable with:
→ Tight voiceover sync and strong pacing
→ Cinematic sequencing using premium B-roll
→ Music selection and sound design that supports tone without overpowering the edit
→ Restrained graphic treatment — elegant titles, minimal text, subtle motion only where needed
→ Dark, refined color grading with a luxury/editorial feel
→ A minimal, polished approach — no flashy transitions or overused effects
→ Letting strong images breathe and carry meaning
Preferred tools:
Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
A strong fit will have:
→ Experience editing documentary, essay, luxury, culture, or high-end brand content
→ A portfolio that shows taste, restraint, and narrative instinct
→ The ability to follow a clear creative brief while bringing strong visual judgment
**This is not a fit for editors whose style leans heavily on fast cuts, flashy effects, or social-media pacing.
If applying, please send:
→ 2–4 relevant samples
→ Your typical rate per video
→ Your turnaround time
→ A brief note on your editing style
