Calcas animated video - whiteboard/line animation

Client: California Casualty Management ("Calcas") - Calcas provides insurance for specific groups of people, including teachers, law enforcement and firefighters. This video is specifically focused on teachers.

Overview: Develop one 2-minute animated video branding piece that shows teachers how Calcas can help them through every stage of their lives.

The idea is that the video will have one primary character. The viewer will see this main character go through graduation, getting married, having kids, kids growing up and learning to drive (this is an important one), and retirement. At every step, a Calcas rep will address the main character's worries/concerns. Main message is "Wherever your journey in life takes you, Calcas will be there to help."

Style: They're looking for whiteboard style animation with characters. They DON'T want any hands in the video though. Attached is some collateral that shows a style of graphics they like. It shouldn't look cartooney. But does need to be detailed enough to convey emotions and different scenes / stages of life.

For colors, we don't have to stick to any specific brand colors. I do want a mix of black/white and color -- not everything should be colorful. I'm thinking maybe the main characters are more colorful than the background elements, but I'm open to ideas.

Script: Attached is the current description of the visuals the client is thinking of. I might make a few tweaks to this, but we can use this to develop design frames. The video may or may not have voiceover -- that is to be determined.

Requirements: I'd like 6-8 design frames in a whiteboard/line drawn style. At least one frame per "scene" in the script.

Timeline: Design frames are due next Wednesday 11/15. Video needs to be finalized mid-December.
