I would like to raise funds through crowd funding platforms such as kick-starter for my fashion business idea. It is a niche online clothing store for petite women. I am thinking that an animated short story highlighting the below points may be suitable. I look forward to getting in contact with any person that understands my requirement and can advice best way forward.
The following is the written description explaining the idea for potential backers of the project to be posted on crowd-funding and other social media platforms such as you tube.
There is a Huge gap in market for in trend petite clothes at a affordable high street cost. The petite clothing sector is by in large full of premium brand petite wear aimed at the more mature woman. Here at Shahara Style with the brand 'style S' I would like to introduce a new affordable petite range that is based on cat walk trends and sold at high street prices.
I have already commissioned designs for selected petite wear that have been welcomed positively through market research and potential petite customer feedback. I have strong networks in Bangladesh to develop the designs and have already created some samples to test designs.
My journey to dealing with suppliers abroad and not having any control over garment workers working conditions led me to look at the option of opening a small factory which employs factory workers directly. I have secured the premise with full rights to utilise as a business and have several potential staff ready to work on my petite clothing line.
The Money raised will help buy equipments to start a small garments factory for producing UK designed petite clothing in a small village in Bangladesh. The creation of the garments factory will provide the opportunity for much needed jobs for local villagers to support themselves and their families as well as equipping them with life long valuable skills. Jobs for local villagers will include a decent living wage to provide for their families health, living and education expenses.
It will be a very much ethical way of working that can give customers the feel good factor of knowing the clothes they wear are produced under good conditions and not in any way associated with slave labour.
The production house will only be producing the designs created for the petite label and as such there is no requirement to overwork and underpay factory workers. Workers would be employed on a full time basis, set days a week with regular breaks and paid holiday.
To create an affordable 'in season' and 'on trend' petite clothing line is very much thought out through ethical beliefs. Why should petite women have to pay a premium for a restricted range of clothing? or why is it when fashionable items are found they are most often in need of tailoring at an extra cost just to fit right?
The money raised will help launch the business by helping build the foundations for a ethical way to trade. Customers of brand 'style S' can take pride in wearing affordable, stylish 'in trend' outfits, whilst relaxing in the knowledge that the clothes they wear are produced under strict supervision of Shahara Style!
Please get in touch if you think you can help create an explainer/promotional animated video from my business idea or if you think there is another option I haven't considered that would be better.
