Tweaking to Photo of my Nan & Grandpa in their teens.

I need someone to help improve some pictures of my Nan & Grandpa.

There are two images:

1. (See file 1.jpeg), I adore this picture, but the black background is horrid. I attempted to see what the images looked like without the background using some crude AI on Canva, and what I'm left with are really stern cuts on the images. (See file 2.png). I'd just like to improve the darkness of the background and without my Nan look as though she has very straight hair going down on the right of the picture, and my Grandpa not look as though he has been cut around severely. I'd also like to centre the images and have Grandpa on the left of the image, and Nan on the right.

2. I'd just like to remove the damage to the photo (not sellotape, and no creases and no dirt). (See file 3.jpeg)

These are the best quality images I have available, but I can run them through some AI if needed.
