Hi, I’m Justin Saffel, and I’m on a mission to help people transform their financial lives using practical, proven systems. My personal brand YouTube channel is all about simplifying personal finance through the lens of Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE).

I share strategies I’ve used to go from checking EBT balances to managing $6M in assets and work optional by age 38—without sacrificing life’s joys along the way. This isn’t just about numbers; it’s about creating freedom to spend more time with family, pursue passions, and build a legacy.

I’m currently relaunching my channel to connect with a wider audience, but here’s the challenge: with my schedule as a general contractor and asset manager, I don’t have the time (or video editing expertise) to produce polished, engaging content on my own. That’s where you come in!

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

I want to create high-quality, engaging videos that inspire, educate, and motivate viewers to take control of their finances. This role is a key part of achieving that mission, as your editing will bring my content to life, helping me connect with my audience and grow the channel.

I’m looking for a talented, professional video editor who can work with me long-term to consistently improve the quality and effectiveness of my videos.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

- Edit 1 YouTube video per week (approximately 5–12 minutes long).
- Turn raw footage into engaging, polished content ready for upload.
- Add dynamic elements like:
- Captivating intros and outros.
- Text overlays, graphics, and animations (where appropriate).
- Stock footage or b-roll to enhance storytelling.
- Subtitles (if needed).
- Ensure smooth transitions, color correction, and audio balancing.
- Collaborate with me to refine the storytelling style and overall feel of the channel.
- Keep videos aligned with the channel’s focus on FIRE and personal finance.

REQUIREMENTS

Here’s what you need to bring to the table:

- Proven experience in video editing (YouTube experience preferred).
- A portfolio or examples of past work to demonstrate your skills.
- Proficiency in editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or Descript Perferred).
- Ability to add creative elements that align with the channel’s vibe.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Excellent communication skills and responsiveness to feedback.
- Ability to meet weekly deadlines.

- Experience working with creators in the personal finance or self-improvement niche.
- Knowledge of YouTube SEO best practices.
- Basic graphic design skills for thumbnails.
- Familiarity with stock footage sites like Storyblocks or Envato Elements.

TRIAL PROCESS

2. Trial Project: I’ll send over a raw video for you to edit as a paid trial ($25 flat rate).
