Description
Experience Level: Entry
The job is to tell my story:
1. Video should be 7-15 seconds in length
2. Video content should consist of images, text & transitions - which you will need to source yourself
3. Story below, you have total creative freedom, not all of the story (as listed) needs to be included, please use use your experience and story telling ability to make the video as compelling as possible.
Story:
1. Footballer Chloe Kelly was born in Hanwell (West London) in January 1998 the youngest of 7 kids, Kelly began playing football at a young age with her five brothers
2. Growing up she loved football so much she would take the bus to Wembley on cup final days (90 minute round trip) just to buy a matchday program
3. Her footballing idol when she was growing-up was Bobby Zamora, once also a Queens Park Rangers player
4. Her career
- QPR
- Arsenal
- Used to travel 2 hours each way to train with Arsenal
- Signed a pro contract in Feb 2016
- Loaned (June 2016) and eventually transferred to Everton (Jan 2018)
- Everton
- In her first full season with Everton she made 15 appearances and scored 2 goals, despite playing with an ankle injury all season
- After having ankle surgery, 2019 marked a turning point for Kelly's career. She scored nine goals in 12 games for Everton during the 2019-20 FA WSL season helping the club climb the table to sixth place.
- In September 2019 she scored both goals in a 2-0 win vs Bristol City, the second of which (long range effort from outside the area) went viral https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=019eSmP3NGg
- Man City
- Signed in July 2020
- Suffered an ACL injury in May 2021 which meant she missed the Olympics and was in a race against time to prove herself ready for Euro 2022
- She did rehab at the same time as Lucy Bronze https://www.englandfootball.com/articles/2022/Jul/23/chloe-kelly-cages-london-euro-wembley-20220723
5. England Euro 2022
- Scored in a friendly vs Belgium on May 16th
- Named in the provisional squad for Euro 2022 on May 17th
- In the final vs Germany, came on in the 63rd minute and scored the winner at 110 minutes, she celebrated by removing her shirt and swinging it around her head, revealing a sports bra and receiving a yellow card as a result. She was later praised as uniting and empowering women. Kelly's celebration was compared to that of American defender Brandi Chastain (1999 World Cup). She has been lauded for the celebration which has been highlighted as a watershed moment for womens football:
- “This image of a woman shirtless in a sports bra - hugely significant. This is a woman’s body - not for sex or show - just for the sheer joy of what she can do and the power and skill she has. Wonderful."
I will be awarding the task to 4-5 applicants, and the best outputs will lead to much more work like this. Thank you
