PROFESSIONAL PREMIERE PRO EDITOR NEEDED FOR THREE ZAMBIA DOCUMENTARY FILMS
We are looking for an experienced video editor to turn raw footage filmed in Zambia into three polished, professional films.
The footage was captured by a young filmmaker during an extended work-experience placement. We need someone who can review and organise the footage, select the best interviews and B-roll, and help create a strong structure for each film.
We can provide the key messages and write the linking scripts. The filmmaker can record any required voiceover once the editor has identified the best interview clips and created an initial structure.
THE THREE FILMS
1. FLATDOGS CAMP BRAND DOCUMENTARY
Target length: 3–4 minutes; maximum 5 minutes.
Flatdogs is a safari lodge next to South Luangwa National Park. The footage includes interviews with several team members, the camp and accommodation, staff, wildlife, safari experiences and surrounding landscapes.
We need an attractive, cinematic brand film that captures the people, atmosphere, wildlife and guest experience. It should combine the best interview clips with B-roll, music, natural sound, titles, branding and narration where required.
It should feel warm, authentic and aspirational—not like a generic corporate video—and be suitable for the Flatdogs website, YouTube and promotional use.
2. PROJECT LUANGWA DOCUMENTARY
Target length: 4–5 minutes; maximum 5 minutes.
Project Luangwa is a charity supporting communities in Zambia’s South Luangwa Valley.
The footage includes interviews with approximately five people, including representatives of the organisation and people who have benefited from its work. There is also B-roll of its education, community and environmental projects.
The finished film should clearly explain what Project Luangwa does, who it supports, the impact of its work and why people should donate, fundraise or become involved.
The editor will need to select the strongest interview content and combine it with B-roll, music, titles, branding and narration to create a positive, authentic and emotionally engaging film.
3. AFRICAN WILD-DOG COLLARING FILM
Target length: approximately 1½–2½ minutes.
This footage shows a wildlife-conservation operation in which an African wild dog was captured and fitted with a tracking collar.
We need a short, compelling conservation film showing what happened and briefly explaining why wild dogs are collared and monitored.
It should have a strong opening, a clear sequence, natural sound, suitable music, brief explanatory captions or narration and a concise ending. The animal and conservation team must be portrayed respectfully without sensationalising the operation.
We would prefer a strong two-minute film to a longer version containing repetitive footage.
EDITING REQUIREMENTS
All three films must be edited professionally in Adobe Premiere Pro. Please do not apply if you intend to use iMovie, CapCut or another editing program.
The work must include:
* Review and organisation of the raw footage
* Selection of the best interviews and B-roll
* Collaborative story development
* Professional video and audio editing
* Audio clean-up and balancing
* Colour correction and grading
* Appropriately licensed music
* Titles, interviewee names, captions and simple graphics
* Subtitles where appropriate
* Integration and enhancement of the recorded voiceovers
* Two rounds of reasonable revisions per film
* Final high-resolution 16:9 exports
* Complete, editable Adobe Premiere Pro project files
The Premiere Pro files must be clearly organised so the filmmaker can open them, understand how the films were constructed and make future amendments. Please include all graphics and details of any fonts, effects, plug-ins and music licences used.
We can supply logos, interviewee names, background information, key messages and scripts. The filmmaker can also talk the editor through the footage.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
Please quote separately for:
* A 60-second social-media edit of the Flatdogs film
* A 60-second edit of the Project Luangwa film
* Short vertical edits of 15–30 seconds
WHEN APPLYING, PLEASE PROVIDE:
* Relevant examples of documentary, wildlife, conservation, travel, charity or hospitality films
* A fixed price for each film individually
* A discounted fixed price for all three films
* Confirmation of what your quotation includes
* How much raw footage your price assumes
* Your estimated turnaround time
* Number of revisions included
* Confirmation that licensed music and editable Premiere Pro files are included
* Your preferred method for transferring the footage
Please do not provide only an hourly rate. We need a clear fixed-price quotation. There may be further work available if the project goes well.
