Hi there!
I'm looking for long-term help on my YouTube Channel, Philomatics: https://www.youtube.com/@philomatics
I'm planning to do one video every two weeks for the foreseeable future. As the channel grows, and if we work well together, I'd like to increase the frequency to one video per week.
It's a highly technical channel, but you don't need a technical background to apply.
Check out this video to see what kinds of motion graphics I usually include in my videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42392W7SgnE
As you can see, my videos consist of screen recordings, with explainer-style animations and occasional memes/jokes.
For each video, I would be sending you:
- The (already edited, mostly finished) audio files
- Unedited screen recordings (no audio)
- Instructions on which screen recording to use when/how to match up with the audio/pre-written script (since the content of videos is pretty technical)
- Instructions which motion graphics to create from scratch and how to match it up with the audio/pre-written script
Here are all the things I'd need your help with:
1. Editing the video from the provided files above
2. Adding annotations and explainer-style graphics, designed for clarity
3. Designing and animating motion graphics, syncing up with audio
4. Helping me find a visual style for the channel and the editing (I kinda don't like how the motion graphics look at the moment for example, would love help on this)
5. Selecting and finding memes/jokes to include in the videos (you get artistic freedom if you like)
6. Making sure the graphics in the videos are consistently designed (consistent layout, spacing, fonts & colors)
7. If you like, graphic design work on the channel as well (Thumbnails, Channel Logo & Banner)
In your proposal, please let me know which of these numbered task categories you can help me with. It's ok if you can't do all of them, just let me know :)
Once you're finished, I'd ask you to please send me the video project & motion graphics project files so I can continue to edit them and make final adjustments. So in your proposal, please let me know which video editing software and which software you're using for creating the motion graphics.
Currently I use Camtasia for all my editing and for most of the motion graphics. I know that it's not professional software, so I don't expect you to use it, but if you can, that would be fantastic, since it's something I already know and work well with. If you don't use Camtasia, no biggie, just let me know which software you use for editing in your proposal.
Please also give me a rough estimate (in hours) for how long you think it would take you to create the video I linked above, given the files I mentioned above.
Please also provide work samples of motion graphics you've animated in the past, or designs you've created in the past.
Thank you for your effort, really looking forward to your application and working with you!
