I shall describe my problem below, and hope that you would be able to find me a solution using the existing software or by writing a unique code to address my problem.
Key Problem :- "I need to sum up data from multiple excel workbooks."
Detailed Description of the Problem:
Let us say there are a 100 excel work books that I have created. Now each of these work books has data that is distributed in 10 excel sheets.
The first excel sheet s deliberately left blank and is used for collating data within the same excel sheet.
So let us say I have opened a new excel work book. I will then leave the first sheet in this workbook blank and from sheet 2 I shall start entering the data. Now, I have 10 questions that are enumerated from row A1 to row A10 in Sheet 2. Each of these 10 questions has a numerical answer. So the rows B1 to B10 on sheet 2 will contain the numerical answers corresponding to each of the questions.
In the same manner Sheet 3 of my work book would also contain the same 10 questions ranging in the row A1 to A10 and have its corresponding answers from rows B1 to B10.
So on and so forth for Sheets 4 and 5.
Now in the Sheet 1 (which we had earlier left blank) we do the summation of answers of rows ranging from B1 to B10 of the Sheets 2,3,4 and 5.
So that now Sheet 1 has the same 10 questions in the rows a1 to A10 but the answers in rows B1 o B10 are the sum total of all the sheets that follow sheet 1.
Now there are a 100 such workbooks that are created in a weeks time and all have the same formats. I need to consolidate the data (or sum up the data) of each of the hundred Sheet 1 rows B1 to B10 in one single sheet.
In order to help you better understand the problem I have attached 3 excel files that are named Day 1, 2 and 3 respectively and a fourth Excel file (that contains the summation of Sheet 1 of files Day 1,2 and 3 respectively) which is called "Consolidated Report".
I look forward to receiving a solution o this unique problem from you.
Awaiting your reply.
