Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
This job is to transcribe a series of group interviews undertaken as part of research for a dissertation in law. The speakers are Australian and American, and the subject matter is legal and scientific (although not a lot of overly technical language is used). I am after a verbatim transcription (including false starts, incorrect grammar, and ums and ahs), with perfect spelling. This is an ongoing job, with interviews still being conducted. The total amount of hours of transcription will probably be at least 50, and perhaps quite a bit more. Right now, I have about 12 hours of transcribing to be done. As I've not had any experience hiring freelancers (my research assistants have been doing the transcribing thus far), I would like to start the job with just one interview, so I can check whether the quality of the transcription is appropriate. The interview has four speakers, and lasts for 1 hour and 56 minutes. I will need the transcriber to sign a confidentiality agreement, as I have promised my interviewees confidentiality. I would like this first interview transcription to be finished within one week after starting. I would be particularly keen to hire anyone with experience in fields relating to water resources (and therefore, knowledge of terminology in this field).
