Wordpress Web Application

I want to create a web application similar to www.fflick.com. I didn’t want to start the application from scratch and I have some experience in WordPress, so, I am thinking of using WordPress as a base and use its framework to build upon my application. I can avoid writing code for user creation, roles, database connections and use other freebies and plugins. I am sure there will be some disadvantages associated as well.

So, your basic work would be to customize the frontend of the Page in WP to contain one movie with trailers and its tweets. The content of the Pages should be controlled from the backend for administration. There will be more work in the backend to search for tweets and aggregating YouTube videos.

Main areas of the site are as follows,

1.Sigin in to the site with twitter
2.Capturing user profile, demographics and other important information
3.Search and display of popular/positive/negative tweets similar to fflick.com
4.Most critical functionality is “Add Movie”, like “Add Page” in WP for adding new Movies or Videos from Administrator. It should search and store the tweets and videos in the database.
5.Admin should select the required tweets and mark them positive or negative. Select the videos to be displayed in our application. These items should get stored in our database.
6.Application should then provide handles of this data to the frontend.
7.Coding should be done such a way that this functionality should be scalable to other content aggregation such as music or other website reviews.
8.The frontend application should take the handles of this data and present it in the frontend in a standard way as WP with the design controlled by CSS

I hope the availability of open libraries to connect to Twitter and YouTube will get this functionality done quickly. so, I am hoping to complete this project quickly, as well.

If you have good experience in WP and have hacked its core libraries in your previous projects, then you would be able to achieve this very easily.
