Front end developer required to build a simple data capture form on our website, using Wordpress.
Project overview
WE have built a website designed to generate leads for invoice finance. We require a developer to build a short data capture form using Wordpress. All information collected will be sent via email in real time and the data should be stored on the server for future reference.
Summary of requirements:
1. Create a landing page to host data capture form
2. Create a data capture form containing 9 fields
3. After hitting request a quote’ the customer should be taken to a separate page with a “thank you” message
4. Data collected should be transmitted via email
5. Data should be stored on the server for future reference
Document structure:
The project requirements are split over the following sections:
Page format/structure : Overview of page elements and how they should be structured.
Form requirements : Overview of the following requirements:
1. Structure of data capture form
2. Number of fields
3. Validation
4. Confirmation/”Thank you” page
5. Transmitting leads
6. Storing data on server
Page format/structure:
Appendix 1 shows a screenshot of how the new page should be structured and what content will be included. Essentially the page is made up of three elements:
1) Template : The page should use the standard template which is used across the site.
2) Lender logos : The lender logos appear on the right hand side of the quote form. There are 8 logos which need to be displayed. These images will be supplied by Touch Financial.
3) Quote form : The third element is the quote form, which is specified in the next section.
Form requirements:
The following section provides an overview of our requirements for the online data capture form:
1) Fields : The form is split into two sections • “Your business” and “Your details”. There are three fields in the first section and six in the second.
Appendix 3 shows the fields required, format, drop down options and which fields are mandatory.
2) Validation : Appendix 3 shows which fields should have numeric or text inputs. Aside from this basic validation, there is no other validation required on these fields.
3) “request a quote” button : There is a button at the end of the quote form titled “Request a quote”, Touch will provide this image.
4) “thank you” page : Once a customer has successfully submitted their details they should be taken to a “thank you” page. This page provides the customer with a short thank you message.
We will be using Google Analytics to track the number of leads we receive in real time. To enable us to use their tracking we need to ensure the URL changes from the first page of the form to the second, i.e. when the customer hits submit’ they should be taken to a separate page.
An analytics tag should also be added to this page. Appendix 5 provides the tag and an overview of how this should be implemented.
Appendix 2 shows a mockup of how the page should look.
Appendix 4 provides the text which should be present on the page.
5) Transmitting leads : Upon successful submission, the customers details should be sent via email
6) Storing data : All customer data collected should be stored on our server or within Wordpress. We should then have the ability to manually download reports on an ad hoc.
