Wordpress Admin-ajax XHR Expert needed. Solve Server Load Issue

I have a Wordpress website for a client of mine, that has a custom template & scripts, that runs property (house) auctions.

It was running fine, but now has some issues. Basically its hitting server resource levels, (100% of 3cpu, 3gb). and going slow, despite not having many visitors.


I am pretty sure the issue is either:

- one of several scripts, that update minutely via cron (I have wp crontrol installed to see)

- and there is an admin-ajax.php XHR call on certain pages that updates a viewers data for multiple properties every few seconds (e.g. list prices of a property). I will show you the calls that you can see in chrome/devtools

I run a small web agency (15 years), know more than the basics of php & wp code. so you can happily deal with someone that understands how things work!

You have to be the developer. do not apply if you are not the developer. I absolutely do not want agencies, project managers, or to be 3rd partied.

Also only apply if you are UK, Europe, Eastern Europe based.

Communication be with me, not the client.

Also I expect communication over video chat and google hangouts and chat with me (It will resolve it faster), and get it done.

May lead to more regular work.

I've put a budget of £150. But would prefer to work hourly. Estimate 3-4 hours. (Something like this):

2 hrs get your head around code
1 hr to fix etc
1 hr communication
