Stripe integration (After payment) basic help

I have Stripe integrated into my website. The payment can be completed. I need help with what happens after the payment including:
-Making sure that a payment was completed successfully and not oly relying on the referral to the success url
-Passing additional parameters such as user id along with Stripe and to the success page
-Webkooks (or better alternative) for recurring monthly payments to perform actions when the automatic payment is taken successfully or inform the user when a payment has not been automatically taken successfully
