Seo on property web site

I have a property web site and want it to be much more visible on the search engines. I use Google Adwords but want to be more reliant on the search engines themselves. No SEO work has been done on the site. Have keywords in mind and url of competitor web sites that I want to compete with. The web site is hosted by Godaddy.
