Description

I am looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer to take a sample data model and short functional spec and develop the first phase of a website.
The application aims to index information about people and places stored in physical documents and make the document information available to logged in users following a search.
There may be numerous instances of each document, and each documentinstance may have some differing attributes, so documentinstance has a many to one relationship to document. Each documentinstance can be associated with one user. Each documentinstance may contain personal information about many people or location information about many places (For example, we may wish to store the information on library plates in books – a single published book may have many instances with differing data on the library plates). Additionally each person may be linked with numerous life events and locations (eg birth date and place)
The example ER diagram gives an overview. A more detailed data model is available to bidders.
Ideally, I\'d like the developer to be relatively local (within an hour or so of Saffron Walden) so I could meet to further discuss my requirements, but it is not a deal breaker. I\'d like the project to be under proper change control, preferbly git / github, and although development will be remote, I\'d like the project to be deployed on a webhost (running apache / mysql) and regularly updated.
My limited knowledge of Ruby on Rails suggests this basic first phase should take 1 – 3 days, though I am happy to discuss requirements more fully to ascertain a reasonable length. Funds are limited so development will be staged as funds become available.
