Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
==== Overview ====
We are looking for a developer experienced with basic image manipulation / processing in Ruby.
We would like the resulting Ruby script to be able to make use of software / libraries that can be installed using Ruby Gem(s). We don’t mind what is used, current software that has been suggested is RMagick (www.imagemagick.org/RMagick/doc) which makes use of Image Magick (www.imagemagick.org). However we are open to any solution provided it uses Ruby Gem(s).
We have put a post on the Image Magick forum which has had a response with a solution however it uses the command line version opposed to RMagic. This should be straightforward to implement for someone who knows what they are doing - http://www.imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19724
==== Specification ====
Below is a diagram (you may need to download this) and description of what we are trying to achieve:
1. Load ‘Image 01’ - a consistent fixed size
2. Overlay ‘Logo Image’ - this will be the same logo / size / position every time
3. Save to ‘Page 01’ of PDF
4. Load ‘Other Image’ - it is an unknown size
5. Scale ‘Other Image’ using a specified scale factor
6. Rotate ‘Other Image’ using a specified degree of rotation
7. Position ‘Other Image’ using specified x and y values
8. Load ‘Image 02’
9. Overlay manipulated ‘Other Image’
10. Save to ‘Page 02’ of PDF
11. Return two page PDF
All of the above images are in CMYK 300dpi format. The resulting PDF also needs to be in CMYK. The two images that are overlaid have transparency, these can be provided in whatever format you need tiff etc.
Any questions please feel free to drop me an email.
Kind regards,
Lee
