Need a javascript to receive an argument in a link with two parameters and redirect to one of two pages based on first parameter and then send an email based on the second parameter. Need this code quickly. See below for detail spec
Tracking of links being opened
http://www.yyy.com/crconf.aspx?d=1&Target=1234567890abcde
We will be sending out emails containing a link (example above which would work) which contains two parameters which we will put into the link. The value of “d” will be a number (1 or 2). The value of “Target” will actually be a 15 alphanumeric (value in link above is just an example). When the user clicks the click in their email, two things should happen:
1) An email is sent to xxx@yyy.com with a subject of “Link Tracking Information” with the following message in the body of the email:
A link was just opened by <value of “Target”>; link in Salesforce is:
https://na3.salesforce.com/<value of “Target”>
2) if d=1 the user is redirected to _________
3) If d=2 the user is redirected to Use Case Landing Page
Feel free to implement the code/methodology anyway you want as long as the person clicking the URL you supply is directed to the right place and the email is sent with the 15 alphanumeric value.
Some clients implement crconf as a general routine to catch the “d” variable to determine where to direct the person and some just embed emailing code at the location for the 2 pages, either is fine with me. If you decide to embed the code then the crconf.aspx won’t be needed, rather 2 different URLs will be needed (verses passing down the d variable).
