Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Job Summary:
To convert 6 files from PSD into HTML5/CSS3 files.
HTML Guidelines:
Also, please find our general HTML guidelines for creating markup we can use with our bespoke content management system:
• Ensure all CSS selectors are class based rather than id based
• Ensure all javascript / jquery etc selectors are class based rather than id based
• Ensure any image that is going to be content managed is NOT coded as a background image, it needs to be an IMG tag
• Ensure any jquery / javascript that is used is not hard coded to look for specific values. The jQuery should use selectors relative to the current position / page or some other dynamic variable. For example $(input '[value="7"]') would be bad. $(this).parent().parent().find('input') would be good.
• Only one form tag, .NET uses one form wrapped around the whole page.
• Ensure all paths to assets (img / css) are supplied as root relative, e.g. /img/image_one.png as opposed to ../../image_one.png . This might require the front-end developer setup a local web-server to host the files.
• Ensure that all mark-up that is going to be output in an area that is content managed via a rich text editor only uses primitive tags (i.e. b, strong, i, img). Don't use divs, spans etc as these will not be content manageable
• Ensure jQuery event listeners are placed in separate files that pertain to a given piece of functionality (i.e. self documentation based on file naming conventions)
• Ensure mark-up works in IE7+
• Ensure all mark-up is signed-off, cross browser tested, is W3C valid and passes the above guidelines before handing over.
