Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
1) Go to http://161.58.72.79/researchdb.php.
2) On this page we need to add a field “Search by Keyword: “ that goes just below the “Select Principal Investigator” field. There will be a textbox to the right of “Search by Keyword: “. Users should be able to enter any text string in the textbox. The length of the text string should be limited to 50 characters. The search function should do an exact string match with the entered keyword.
3) In the backend database there is a “contact” table with a “contactbiosketch” column. The column datatype is “character varying” with a length of 100,000. User text data is stored in this column. When users use “Search by Keyword: “, the “contactbiosketch” column should be searched for the entered keyword.
4) The results of the keyword search should be displayed in the existing page “results.php”, which contains a table format. The table should include the columns “last name”, “first name”, “organization”, “phone”, and “email”. This info can be derived from the “contact” table.
5) We would like to have the job finished by April 18, if possible.
Deliverables:
1) PHP / Javascript / SQL code that solves the current task.
2) Suggested modifications to the database schema (if any) that are required to support the PHP / Javascript / SQL code.
3) CSS/HTML code that is required to support the PHP code.
