Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
1) Go to http://161.58.72.79/researchdb.php.
2) On this page we need to add a “Role” field just beneath the “Title” field. The roles for principal investigators are available in “Contact” and “Role” tables in the database. When users choose an investigator in the Select Principal Investigator drop-down list, the page that is displayed should include the appropriate Role field data.
3) If the user makes a selection (or multiple selections) from the Search by Areas of Expertise list OR makes a selection (or multiple selections) from the Search by Interests list OR makes a selection (or multiple selections) from the Search by Diseases list, the Results.php page is displayed. On the Results.php page we need to add a “Role” column after the last column on the right. The Role fields in this column should display the appropriate role for each investigator.
4) The database contains tables “contact” and “role”, which are in 3rd normal form, i.e. one-to-many referential integrity constraints. The PHP/SQL code should take account of this.
5) An entity-relationship diagram of the database will be provided so you’ll know what the DB schema is. Unfortunately we cannot provide direct access to the DB for security reasons.
6) We would like to have the job finished by April 11, if possible.
Deliverables:
1) PHP / Javascript / SQL code that solves the current task.
2) Suggested modifications to the database schema (if any) that are required to support the PHP / Javascript / SQL code.
3) CSS/HTML code that is required to support the PHP code.
Modify existing code if possible.
