PHP developer

Hey /there Fella,
I have recently got into the php side of web development, and recently set up a MYSQL account and apache server, but cant intergrate my PHP with the apache server and need help on making sure everything is working in good order before i start working through the tasks in this book. IT seems such a simple things to do and i have tried all ways to get around it but get confused....so i really need help on solving the php.ini file in my directory. i live in Exeter and am certain that a man with your knowledge could probably do this in an hour. i would be very greatful if you could help.
