Penny auction timer

Experience Level: Intermediate
I have a penny auction script and the timer should extend on every bid but doesnt. I have looked and once activated it uses mysql on the script but instead of fixing this i would like it to be changed to just a standard exend of 30 secs or if poss to the action start time eg starts at 1min 30 gets bid starts back at start.
