Recently our web hoster stopped accepting FTP and now only accepts secure FTP.
We have a SSL domain certificate but have failed to succeed in making python2.7 FTP_TLS work when connecting to Linux Raspberry Pi's, monitoring data via small batch files called as cronjobs. We have no more time to devote to this.
We are seeking a lightweight solution and want to avoid large upgrades if possible as these invariably lead to the 5 year old code stopping. We have been trying with FTPlib & FTPretty.
You may already have a piece of code?
Our alternative is to be less secure and continue as we are migrating back to VPS where others on a shared server are not at risk - last resort.

Would you consider using another transfer method, e.g. SFTP, or is FTPS mandated? As I understand it, FTPS is more complicated to set up and get working behind a firewall. I have roughly 20 years of experience with SFTP however, and could probably get that working much more quickly
