Java script needed

Hi There,

I need some script for 2 issues I have with my website:
(I am a designer and have have basic knowledge of dreamweaver.)

1:
I want to make a button change just 1 panel within a page (rather than loading a new page). See attached image to explain.

2:
I want a drop down menu system. See attached image to explain.

I have XHTML pages built with CSS styling that I can supply. I \'m hoping someone can insert the necessary script required to make this work, and supply it back to me.
Some phone support will be required, in order we can apply this to other sections of site.
