Job Title: Intranet, Web and Database developer
Department: IT
Location: London
Job Status: Consultant (once fortnightly for a minimum of 12 months)
Job Purpose:
This role is a contracted service to the Practice and is to provide appropriate support, maintenance and development of existing Intranet facilities. The IT facilities are comprehensive and the Intranet and associated facilities are bespoke to the business and provide essential facilities for the effective management of projects and other parts of the business. The successful appointee will need to provide full demonstrable references as to the experience and quality of work.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
• Maintain the Intranet Facility; this is a base bespoke system written in ASP.Net – multiple versions but mainly V2. Much of the system is linked to a SQL database for the purposes of information collection, retrieval and reporting.
• Management and modifications to the Contacts database, which is written ASP.Net2 and all the data collected via appropriate screens and written to the SQL server tables. This is a multi-tiered system that takes account of multiple sites and locations and includes an ability to associate other companies.
• Management and modifications of the CRM application that links into the Contacts system and provides typical CRM functionality.
• Management and modifications to the Project Record – this is a facility that is applied to every project and collects all information related to the project and is used on a daily basis by all personnel.
• Manage and maintain the registration of CAD based drawings and general documents. It has direct links to the CAD (AutoCAD) data and all data is written to the SQL database.
• In addition to the above a number of these resources also interact with other commercial applications in use such as Deltek, a financial and planning ERP system designed for the construction industry, to HR Pro – an HR system.
• Other ad-hoc duties.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
• Previous experience in developing complex solutions in ASP.Net, html, VB, VBA, SQL server, stored procedures, SQL administration and developer credentials.
• Experience of utilising an applications API and developing solutions based on this and as required direct SQL table access.
• The successful applicant will be self-employed as a registered company and have experience of working both in-house and remotely.
• Additional facilities or major re-working of existing facilities may be required which will require a fully scoped document, priced and agreed for committal.
• It is anticipated that an initial briefing will need to be committed to establishing a working knowledge on all existing systems in place and as such a period of time will need to be allocated to this process.
