Initial Web Development

22Jan12 - I apologize to everyone that has bid on this job, However, I realized my lack of specification on the video portion is giving me mixed results. Please re-bid if you are able to meet the following:

1. Website is intended to run off a unix machine (Centos, or recommendation). Ideally, I want you to set up everything (apache, mysql, ffmpeg, etc on the machine). I need someone that is familiar with web server setup.

2. Video processing will be done similar to clip-bucket.com (this is an open source). Basically, the concept is, it accepts any video upload, then using FFMPEG, it will convert it to some standard format. This is how youtube and facebook works (as well as all video streaming web hosts). I'm open to engineers that are willing to learn it (so I can give you more time to make the video portion work, since it is not the most critical aspect of our website; but it will be on your time.)

3. Considered budget is $1000, but willing to negotiate depending on skills and experiences you bring to the table.

In a nutshell,

- Registration/Profile/Feedback System (complexity similar to Linkedin, Facebook, Ebay)
- Internal Messaging/Chat System/Posting System (complexity similar to facebook and Ebay)
- Video conversion (backend video converting to standard format) (complexity similar to facebook, youtube)
- Administrative edits/modification UI (for customization, text inputs e.g. "about us")
- Determining proximity/location (using rough position via IP [I know this is very rough, and even inaccurate due to proxies], or given zip code (or city/state), or even exact address]
- Security of files/content (only designated people shall be able to download/view contents; e.g. paid members)

- Recommendation desired for credit card transactions provider (Credit card transaction is not required yet, but we may want to implement)
- Recommendation desired for advertising platform for revenue generation
