HTML task/chores tracker for kids

We require a simple HTML application that tracks a childs performance
against a small set of defined tasks. Use of the application makes it
easy to reward children for good behavior and keep them motivated.

There are two main sets of features, those for parents and those for children.

Features for Parent
==============

Initial configuration needs to be done by a parent. On first run the parent is walked through the setup process. Subsequently it can be re-configured using from a settings menu that is pin protected. When logging into the config screens there is a link to mail the pin to the parent.

Enter an email address and pin to protect the configuration screens

Create one or more childs account (name, age, sex)

Selects tasks to make available to their children using a set of supplied suggestions and/or custom tasks entered by the parent

Assign reward points to each task (or use default provided)

Indicates how many times the task must be completed before reward points are awarded (max 7)

Select a set of rewards using supplied suggestions and/org custom rewards entered by the parent

Each reward has a "cost" in reward points

Features for Children
===============

NOTE: there may be more than one child using the app so there may need to be a selection screen (only used if >1 child)

Children select 5 chores they wish to tackle

Children are presented with a reward chart showing:
* Childs name
* Five rows of tasks, with each row displaying:
** task short name
** a blank star graphic for each time the chore must be completed
** the reward points available upon completion
** a help link to display information about how to complete the task
* Current "bank balance"
* A button to spend reward points
* A button to see performance chart

When a task is completed the child clicks one of the empty stars for that task it turns gets a smiley face and plays a happy sound

If a completed star is clicked a dialog asks if you really want to remove the star, with a warning that they should only be removed to correct errors not as a punishment. It requires the pin number to remove a star

When a task line is completed the reward points are credited to the childs account, a transaction log records the date, task and number of points the reward was for. A dialog appears and congratulates the child, it plays a "coins going in the bank" sound, tells the child their new balance, asks if the child wishes to keep the task or choose a new one, either the current task is reset or a new task is selected

When the user wishes to spend reward points they are given a list of rewards available displaying the title of reward, the "cost" of reward. If enough points in the bank a "claim" button is presented, if not enough points in bank the whole line is dimmed and the button is not present. We also need an info link that opens a dialog with a full description of the reward.

When a reward is claimed the reward points are deducted from the bank. A transaction log records the date, reward claimed, and number of points the reward was for. An email is sent to the parent confirming the claimed reward.

The child (or parent via child interface) can display a performance chart at any time. This includes a time chart displaying when tasks are completed and rewards claimed and a full textual transaction log, sorted by reverse date. There is also an option to email the report to any email address (defaulting to parents address).

Non-Functional requirements

Child friendly graphics and interface

Must work well on mobile phones and tablets

Bright and cheerful look and feel

Data structures must be fully normalised

Must be implemented in HTML/Javascrip/CSS

Must be delivered as a W3C Widget runnable in Apache Wookie. Note, that the W3C Widget specification is just a packaging standard, so if you don't know it don't worry if you are unfamiliar with it, see http://incubator.apache.org/wookie/docs/widgets.html

Ideally it will also compile as a native application using PhoneGap, please indicate whether you consider this to be in scope or not, failure to indicate otherwise will be assumed to mean that it is in scope).

Prefer use of JQuery Mobile (but will consider other platforms if justified in the bid)

Full mockups of the proposed UI are expected as a first delivery. Any suitable format, including napkin sketches acceptable.

Free and Open Source software under permissive licences are acceptable if pre-approved, no copyleft or weak copyleft licensed code will be accepted.

Graphics and other media must be original or suitable for reuse in proprietary applications.
