Highly experienced PHP / Java Developer (UK only) to work on large bespoke website project!

We are looking for an experienced and skilled PHP / Java Developer to work on a large and highly innovative social discovery website project.

You will need to have excellent communication skills, be very thorough and pay good attention to detail, be always forward thinking and innovative, and be fast, efficient, and proactive.

You will need to be familiar and experienced in PHP, Java, JQuery, AJAX, Apache Lucene (Elastic Search and Solr) , JSON, HTML, Photoshop, and used to working within the LAMP environment.

We have a team of PHP developers that have been developing the core aspects of the website platform, we now need another developer to assist by working on the more advanced features to complete the website.

We also have a mobile app team who are going to be developing our app using the website functionality.

Although highly innovative, the platform has similar concepts to Yelp and Foursquare with business listings and registered users.

Functionality already developed:

Home page (what’s popular, latest members, etc)
Member registration and member profile (friends, messaging, chat wall, gallery, edit and settings)
Business Listings Page with reviews and ratings
CMS admin panel and database MSQL
Social Media API integrations with Facebook, Twitter, etc

Functionality for this requirement:

Advanced member profile functionality – friend’s activity feeds, photo tagging, privacy settings
Advanced business profiles (upgraded) – reports and stats, feature options, etc
Geo-targeted advertising module for sponsored adverts
Special User features (to be discussed)
Groups and Events – Create, Search, and Join
Customization Panel for CMS (turn on/off features and tabs)
API for third party development (allowing third parties to add buttons to their site that update their profile on our website)

NB: All page visuals (pages, popup boxes, forms) have already been designed in Photoshop, so there will be no custom designing involved. Although almost all the design has already been created, there may sometimes be a need to create the odd popup box / form using the already converted HTML code as wrapper skins.

Expected development period
200 – 350 hours or 1 – 3 months
We are looking to agree a fixed amount for the project once we have provided you with the full spec and ideally a face to face meeting.
You will be required to sign an NDA.
