Description
Experience Level: Expert
BID NOW OPEN TO ALL COUNTRIES but please understand we work 08:00 -20:00 GMT so you need to be available/contactable for at least half of our working day and be fluent in English so there are no miscommunications. Thank you.
JOB:
As you will see below this task is about manipulating the functions of WPEC to make the shopping experience more intuitive and fitting our requirements.
Current state of the build:
- WPEC installed and themed
- The shop currently functions as per the standard WPEC settings
- Needs refinement as per the below items
Job Brief/description:
- The live search plugin needs styling so it looks nicer and the results overlay/floats on top of the current page.
- 3 stage shopping cart on one page - all the code/functions are there, it's a case of hiding and showing the relevant parts at each stage.
- Single product page styling, mostly done but needs finishing as per the concept.
- Sort/filter the product page by price (high to low/low to high) or name (ascending/descending) - I believe this is built in.
- 'Fly-out' shopping cart, by this I mean when you add an item and when you hover the mouse over your cart it displays the contents.
- Shopping cart doesn't 'refresh' but the above may fix this, the standard cart does refresh so this should be easily corrected.
- Show 'brand' category page as sub categories and not all products.
We will provide design concepts, desired layouts and any images for all of the above, so no design skills are required on your part.
Caveat:
The documentation for WPEC isn't complete and hence I believe you require solid WP and PHP knowledge to get the most out of the WPEC plugin.
Summary and Skills:
Skills required are a strong grasp of Wordpress and the associated HTML, PHP and CSS, WP E-Commerce (WPEC) experience would be a definite bonus, along with basic AJAX and JQuery.
The PHP, AJAX and JQuery is built in to the standard WPEC install, but be prepared to use it beyond the 'default' out of box settings. However it is highly unlikely we require any base code
changing.
Whilst the above is a detailed account of what I believe is required and I have a strong grasp of HTML, I am not a full-time programmer and so it may not be exhaustive in every detail.
Where possible we aim to re-use the services of freelancers who we've worked with in the past, we currently have a number of projects running in to Christmas and the New Year and so there is plenty of scope for further work.
Many thanks,
Ed
