Job Description:
I am looking for someone to create a forum by using the vBulletin OR phpBB.
The forum is about value investing. I have registered the domain already.
The “categories” and “forums” I already have in mind and will provide to you.
The Forum will have customizations related to Member’s login, welcome email to members, automated account creation, copyright, privacy issues, dealing with spammers, solution of vulgar language and offensive material, how to deal with duplicate threads, affiliates , advertising and all the other customizations which are useful/necessary/mandatory for this kind of forum.
I also want to have contests in the forum. For example contest for the best article and the members will be able to vote/poll the articles.
Also I want to have best stock idea contest. And again I want members to be able to vote for the best idea. For the best stock idea contests, I want the participants to be able to put the stock ticker in a window which can at least show the closing price of the stock on the day of idea submission. Also there should be an archive where old stock idea winners can be stored and the members can see their performance (at least price or percent increase/decrease) from the day of submission till the next twelve months.
I also want you to put the appropriate ads.
I am sure so far most of the things you already have done. Now there is something which might be relatively unusual. That is the following:
"There will be a category for undervalued stocks. It will have forums(headings) for the stocks in different sectors for example stocks in Energy, stocks in banks etc and I want a system where members can put only the correct stock in the correct sector and if they are in the wrong sector they can be directed to the right sector. For example let’s say a member click on undervalued stocks in the Energy sector. He is looking at the page with threads but he wants to start a new thread. When he clicks new thread a window pops up asking him what stock is on your mind with a blank box for stock ticker. He puts the ticker BAC. Now this is bank of America and certainly does not belong in energy sector so he should be told he is being redirected to the correct sector. In this way all the stocks will belong to their respective sectors." In this category, I want all the Stocks on the major US exchanges (NYSE, NASDAQ, American Stock Exchange) covered?
I do NOT want to use a moderator for the above mentioned category. NO NO... I want it the way I have explained above.
I want a design which is very simple but highly appealing. I want a forum which is very friendly, very professional and very easy to navigate.
These are some of the things I have in mind.
Please let me know which software (vBulletin or phpBB) would be best suited for this project and WHY?
If you have any questions or confusions, please do not hesitate to ask me.
Thanks a lot
