Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of every page/module: Video banners embedded on the site www.addstrategy.co.uk
Description of requirements/features: We have a great website - but the videos which play in the background load too slowly
We changed from youtube to vimeo but this made little difference
Worse still the delay means the mobile version cannot have standby images as they preload while awaiting the video - breaking the visual and message on the site.
As there are no backup images for the mobile site it has large blanks at the top of the page.
We are seeking an expert who can fix this issue

Paul, my initial thoughts were the same, Optimise the videos - happy to take one of your videos and compress it for you and return to you to try to see if any improvement. Can then do the rest if it resolves.

Thank you for the invite. As a proprietary system, squarespace does not give you much sway to optimize your site outside of their own platform a they are strict about adding 3rd party code within their severs. I would suggest that you optimize the video itself before loading it to youtube or vimeo. You might be using a higher codec option which make the file big. Or get a CDN like cloudflare to help in caching and serving your pages in advance.
