Customise our automated LexisNexis age verification IDU scans

We are an online pharmacy and our website is built with Magento 2.3.4.

To age verify our patients checking they are over the age of 18 (we don't supply to anyone under this age), we pay to use a company called LexisNexis, with an API configuration built into our site which runs an automated age verification scan as the patient is ordering on our site, which then automatically sends the patient name, DOB, address etc to LexisNexis to conduct the scan.

The issue we are having is that this scan is being ran EVERY time the patient orders, irrespective of whether or not the patient has previously been checked and age verified. E.g. if the patient has been verified once, the site should not then keep doing this scan every time they place an order. This also uses our credits up with LexisNexis incurring us costs.

I have spoken to LexisNexis who say:

"Regarding the web developers, this will be a quick fix for them when working on the API configuration. However, I can put them in touch with our tech team when they are ready, and they should be able to advise if the developers have any questions."

Our website is hosted with GURU and all website files, etc. are on there, with further admin options for the site based in the Magento platform. I hope the above information is sufficient for you to understand the scope of the task, but feel free to ask any further questions.
