i need somebody to create a reporting tool

currently i already created a tool that generates txt files:

based on what the user selects, a txt file is created with the sublevels indicated with correct number of stars

i need you to rethink the technology/methodology; maybe there is a platform/template for this kind of development

current set up:
cascading structure is created with javascript files (see attach)
because the system needs to be flexible / easy adaptable

based on the level that is checked/filled in in the form a number of stars/asterixs (*) is added
a txt file is generated
this txt file is later used in a VBA macro that generates a word document and deals with the layout of all the data

what i need/want you to do:
A. improve the setup so files are saved somewhere on the server (everytime a new report is started this should create a new file / filename should contain address or sequential number + timestamp )

B. rethink if it should not be created with some kind of background database and generate the setup

C. current setup (generate the files with the correct stars depending on the structure) should be completely integrated in your work, i will not do the copy-paste work or re-do all the current work
(all files will offcourse will be send to you once we agree on this task)

please make sure:
- system should be flexible; if a room, a floor type or what so ever needs to be added/modified this should be easy and fast

- system needs to go fast; maybe a "preload" should be build in ?

- system is completely mobile and needs to work on smartphone, tablets and windows computers

please do not respond to this job
- if you are not fluent in english or dutch; it is useless for me to start explaining things via google-translate
- if you plan to constantly ask for extra budget

    Hello Steven,

    To save files on the server it should support server-side scripts. Does your server support PHP scripts or Node.js?

    Another question is which part of the whole process you want to redo? Should files stored on the server have the same format that they have now? Or should the new script replace the VBA macro and store Word documents?

    And one more question:

    Will simple HTML template files work? Or would you like it to be implemented as some kind of a declaration file where you list all the needed sections and the script creates the HTML page from it? If so, what field types should be supported by the system?

    maybe it is good that you check the current version in attach
    and think about how this can be build in correct/flexible technology

    main issue for me is that it should be easy to add (in html or some other way) extra field to every
    "part" of the form and that this is done in a clean-coding way
    > example if field X is added in component "floors" than X should appear everywhere, in every room, in the floor-block

    target for me is a tool that can be used for room-descriptions
    to make it easy for my users (and myself);
    99% of the "possible options" they can see during a room inspection,
    should be pre-set/availible in the "checklists"
    in that way they can go true every room and every "component" (floors/walls/kitchen components/...)
    check the checkboxes / radio buttons / brands etc

    File generation
    at this point i create a system that generates a text file that is then imported in a macro
    (see macro in attach)
    this macro just reads the number of stars
    and then, based on that, puts the text "on the correct location" in the word document

    important; document should not be in PDF yet because we need to be able to modify the text before it is finalized and send to the customer

    extra requirement;
    example: if you go in a room (inkomhall) then open verwarming (heating) you will see "merk" (=brand)
    there a user can select one form the list but this field is also "google-like" autocompleting the brands from a list of brands
    this kind of system should definitly build in your project because i don't want my team to constantly need to type these brand-names (and to make sure no typing errors are made)

    please let me know what kind of input you need befor you can start working on this project

    I'm sorry, but the mentioned budget is far too low for a job like this. For this sum you can get a PHP script that will take text files generated by the existing JavaScript and store them on the server (instead of downloading to client computers). But not rethink/rewrite the whole system. Plus it is still unclear whether you have a working site already (where the script has to be deployed), or it is assumed that the mentioned sum includes buying a domain name and ordering a website hosting package.
