Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I am looking for a small asp.net development team with JQuery and GUI design skills to help accelerate the completion of an online gaming application we are developing.
Background:
We have designed a completely new online game which can be played realtime against others to win a cash pot. To date the core game engine has been built to production-quality in asp.net/C# with some JQuery client-side controls, and we have conducted our first user trials. The user trials produced positive response and so now we wish to accelerate the development and completion of the remainder of the game. This will involve two streams of activity:
1. Completing the pages with which the end-user interacts; and
2. Implementing a number of technical requirements necessary in order to comply with UK gambling commission regulations.
My team will continue to implement the gambling commission technical requirements, but I am looking to outsource the completion of the end-user pages. This will entail the following:
• Design and layout of some new GUI elements, and implementation of various animations using JQuery framework. This will require UI/Usability design skills, in addition to technical skills.
• Addition of a number of new game features to be implemented in C# on top of existing game engine. These features include things such as player-ratings, bonus point allocation schemes, etc.
• Implementation of game-selection page and home/landing page.
Again some UI/usability design skills will also be required here to help us decide upon the best layout and contents for these pages.
• Framework for executing further trials including:
o Randomly assigning a credit amount to trial players
o Ability to reset trial-players credit amount to their original random allocation after a series of games
o Anonymous feedback form
• We may also want these additional features:
o Implementation of some bots to automatically play the game, and test it
o A free-play section where players get a random amount of credit and can play with \"fake\" money to get experience with the game
As the project progresses, there is likely to be additional work that emerges as well. We wish to pursue this work using an agile methodology with 2-week sprints. At the end of each sprint we will conduct another user trial, and results from that trial will feed into the priorities of the subsequent sprint.
We will need you to fully QA the software components you develop as we need you to deliver production-quality code. All code should be implemented in compliance with standard web-application security procedures to avoid common attacks such as cross-site scripting etc.
I estimate that in total we would require 2 developers, with some QA and Project Management time, for around 8-10 weeks. I would like to start the project as soon as possible, but at the latest by January 3rd.
The game concept is brand new and we are taking every step possible to protect our IP. We'll obviously need an NDA in place before we can divulge full details, and I am also interested in what measures you take to protect the confidentiality of your clients' information.
