Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
General update/rewite a woocommerce (WC) plugin to WC standards and to latest versions IN WP & Stripe
Requirements/functionality: Old but free github plugin (https://github.com/chrislema/WooSponsorship) may help but needs updating to current software/stripe standards, and specifics below.
"WooCommerce Crowdfunding" plugin that makes a WC site work like Kickstarter. Set up campaigns (a request for money/support) to raise funds for a project. Should be able to offer rewards (WC product for the support) or not.
The plugin should work with WC Booster
Competing products
• WPMUDev Fundraising,
• IgnitionDeck
Must be a theme independent WC extn to offer Kickstarter/Indiegogo like functionality.
It need ability to process:
• Simple/direct donations, without rewards. – payment processed immediately
• Keep what you get campaigns, if the target isn’t met – payment processed selectably immediately or on completion
• All or nothing campaigns – payment only processed if the campaign is successful’s, but the transactions MUST “pre authorised" with stripe with their token system to allow transaction to complete at a future date. It is NOT just the 7 day in advance preauth, where the transaction is authorised for up to 115% of the initial transaction - ie not the hotel tab like pre-auth, but token that lasts at least 4 weeks (specify how long the token lasts in your response).
The plugin must support:
• Rewards, which MUST be selectable products set up in WC and must support: downloads (eg MP3s or ebooks), simple products (such as mug or sticker where there is no variation) and variable products (such as t-shirts of variable sizes). It is a requirement that all aspects of delivering the reward are captured – ie, if we are sending a hysical reward to a customer, the plugin must ensure the address and all the attributes of the product (ie t-shirt size/colour etc) are captured in standard WC checkout. Currency and countries should be limited by WC). For avoidance of doubt this is an extension of WC , not an ecomm engine in its own right.
• Rewards should support inventory if set in WC
• Stripe, including the ability to pre-authorise payments for keep what you get campaigns, (paypal to be costed as an optional extra).
• Campaigns :
• should support timeless or close on a set date, regardless of success
• should be able to succeed (hit target) “open” or “closed”.
• that succeed should be able to process the pre-authorised TOKENED transactions automatically (ON SUCCESS OR DATE) or manually. It should be selectable that a successful campaign (regardless of the transactions being automatic or manual) should roll over to allow the continuation of donations to process automatically as the support is made – or manually in batches.
• Pledge what you want should be supported.
In all instances the plugin should offer the ability to:
• Demonstrate progress on a campaign in the form or a pie chart/bar graph/thermometer reflecting the percentage success and/or actual amount raised against target (integration with codecanyon.net/item/wordpress-goal-thermometer/8955725 or similar should be costed as an option)
• Such graphic should be able to be called by a short code on a page/post or in a widget.
Specific technologies required: PHP, JS, Wordpress, Woocommerce
Extra notes:
It is essential that the plugin either allows a campaign to be duplicated, so that the content/rewards can be edited, but that a new progress thermometer is associated (ie when first published it is set to zero). It is a critical limitation of the Ignition Deck/WooCommerce integration that campaigns (in their terms projects) cannot be successfully duplicated. Alternatively, the plugin should support the concept of a series of “template” campaigns, which can to all intents be used to create multiple similar projects.
Ideally, the plugin would allow success not to be measured on purely a monetary value, but selectively on total number of rewards transacted or total number of supporters. For example, if T-shirts were a reward level of £20= 1 x T-shirt, £38 = 2 x T-shirts, £56 = 3 x T-shirts, the target might be £200, or 10 T-shirts (which could be a little as £188) or 10 supporters (which could be as much as £560). One way to achieve this might be to set a £38 for two t-shirts reward levels as a product, but separately set a £40 “campaign contribution” level and mark the success or otherwise against this latter setting, not the actual price paid. The number of supports is most relevant in a pledge what you want scenario.
The plugin must support licencing using EDD and Woocommerce Software licencing.
