We need an abandoned WordPress plugin brought up to speed and improved upon

Description of requirements/functionality: Authenticating with a social account for the sake of leaving a comment in WordPress has never really been done right. All social login plugins take a heavy handed approach: they create a user in the WordPress database instead of just authenticating and setting a browser cookie.

There was one attempt made at a cookie-based method called Comments with Social Login. It has been abandoned but would make a good foundation. Let’s fork it, fix it, improve it, and release it.
