Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
General information for the business: We sell custom sized products via Volusion.com ecommerce platform.
Description of requirements/functionality: Build an API interface between our Access Database and the Volusion.com API for updating products, options, categories and vendor rules. Develop a backup and restore solution for a database of 100,000+ products with 1,000,000 options.
Specific technologies required:
1. EXPERIENCE WITH THE VOLUSION API IS REQUIRED.
2. MS Access Databases
3. OS requirements: Windows
4. WE ARE NOT HIRING ANY WEB DESIGNER SERVICES.
Extra notes:
We have about 10,000 products on Volusion at this time, We need to upload about 90,000 more as soon as possible
Each product belongs to 2 or 3 categories.
Each product has an average of 17 options.
Each product has 1 Vendor Rule
We have an MS Access 2010 database. containing our products. with all of the fields required for The Volusions product records, option records, category records and vendor_rule records.
We presently update our store by importing .csv files to Volusion via the Volusion.com web interface . Access can also output the records in xml format.
Part A) We need a faster method to add new products. This is our highest priority.
Part B) We need a backup and restore method that doesn't rely upon csv files.
1. Use the existing Access xml or csv data as a starting point.
2. Will the API be faster or slower than importing CSV files, assuming a 10 MBS upload connection? If so, please provide
Statement of Work
3. Cost to develop. Please quote cost for
Part A alone
Part B alone
A and B
4. Quote time to deliver
5. State payment terms
6 State estimated upload speed per thousand products
7. State support hours and service level agreement
